This is my favorite (and only) good local cafe, its lovely and cheerful just like the owner. It is halfway between Kami itabashi and Tobu nerima and uses ceramics from her friend who has a ceramics shop down the road who is just as lovely and cheerful.
I'm sure there will be more pictures at a another time.
ps. got my coaster from here

New patterns from Liberty, available in Tokyo here and here.

On my trip to Nagaoka earlier this week our friends took us to Teradomari to visit their famous fish street. I bought a box of Sasa dango, they are the specialty of Niigata, apparently available everywhere in the prefecture even on the Shinkansen. They are rice flour and bean sweets wrapped in bamboo leaves (they are quite moist and tasty), I like the wrapping.
Recipe available here.

Trip on the shinkansen to Nagaoka to see the Fireworks festival, The fireworks were really stunning.

I went to The Tokyo Art Book Fair during this weekend at chiyoda 3331, it was a very nice space and there were so many artists stalls, i was in a bit of a daze from the heat and busyness, I bought one little postcard, it makes me think of running about in the dark city with friends, i forgot to ask the artist her name.
Really like that guy's rope camera strap and the ropes outside with morning-glory growing up them looks like the sails of a ship when the wind caught them.

Found out about it from here and here.

I got this little cup from savoir vivre earlier on this year when they had a exhibtion of Naoko Hamasaka's work, i really like the colours looks like morning. I use it for tea or wee flowers.

My camera cable is on a holiday accompanying my boyfriend to Hokkaido, till they return i'll be showing photos i have been intending to blog but haven't yet.

These picture are from a small jewellery shop in Kamakura, It sells handmade, wearable, delicate items. The owners are very nice people.
The packaging suits very well, she carefully heat-seals each pair of earrings into bags then places them into a paper bag before sealing that bag with a rivet.
I think the shop has been open about a year, I can't seem to find a website or other information other than is on the business card.

If you would like to find it get yourself to Kamakura train station, head up the main shopping street (to your left of the square as you exit the station), about half way up you will come to a busy creperie with a green door, across the street is a smart looking lane- its there, that's it you have found it!
